Mark joined BGL as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2020.

Mark has an extensive background in developing digital strategies for consumer facing businesses, as well as hands-on operational expertise and regulatory credentials, having sat on the FCA Open Finance Advisory Panel. He is thoroughly familiar with regulated and private equity-owned businesses and brings strong consumer, people and brand-led experience.

Immediately prior to joining the Group, Mark was on secondment from RBS to the Government’s NHS Test and Trace programme. He previously held several roles at RBS during a ten-year tenure with the business, including positions as CEO of Bó, Chief Operating Officer, and CEO Capital Resolution.

Before re-joining RBS, Mark was Head of Barclays Capital’s (BarCap) Principal Investments unit, leading transactions in the UK, US and South Africa. Mark joined BarCap from RBS Equity Finance where he led investments such as Canary Wharf and Towergate. Mark is a qualified chartered accountant and has also worked in PwC Corporate Finance and Cooper & Lybrand audit. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester, where he studied Economics.
